KENILWORTH RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB
Our Ladies section has celebrated its 2018/19 season with a special dinner at the clubhouse. Having worked hard to secure their place in the Championship 2 Midlands league, both the League and Development players let their hair down at the three course dinner last Friday.
As well as reflecting on the high-points of the season, league team number 8 and Chairwoman Caroline Spence geared the team up for the challenges of the year ahead. She said: "It's been fantastic to see such growth in our section this year, and I know that under the guidance of our new Head Coach Richard Bennett, we'll go on to do even better next year."
Coach Tony Timms handed out several of the awards including Forward of the Year, presented to our brilliant front and second-row Sarah-Katy Davies, Back of the Year to all-round backline talent Felicity Baldwin and Most Improved Player to our rising star of a winger, Holly Glover.
Captain Rebecca Hill, who also won Coaches' Player of the season, said that the dinner was a special opportunity to bring both players, coaches and supporters together.
She said: "Having been with the section from the very beginning, it's amazing to see so many talented players and supporters in one room together. We're very lucky to have so much support from our club and community and this has helped us grow and flourish into the fantastic team we are today."
Sarah-Katy, who also won the Players’ Player and Chairwoman's Awards, said: "It's amazing to have won these three awards, especially Players' Player. The team are so supportive and it's brilliant to be a part of it. I can't wait to get back on the pitch with them all next season."
The Ladies' first match of the season will be a pre-season friendly against Wymondham Wasps on 17th August. Follow the ladies on Instagram and Facebook for more information.
