Kenilworth Rugby Club

Kenilworth RFC Appoint New Men’s Head Coach

Kenilworth RFC are delighted to announce the appointment of Phil Boulton as Men’s Head Coach, ahead of the coming 20/21 season.

Well- known and respected on the rugby scene regionally and nationally, Phil joins the club having recently coached at divisional rivals Newbold RFC, and prior to that he also held the position of Head Coach with Earlsdon RFC (having recorded victories over Kenilworth in both of those roles in the last 2 seasons!).

Phil plays at tighthead for Coventry RFC in the Championship, where he currently holds the club captaincy and also the Head Coach role for their Under-18s team, and his previous clubs include Rotherham Titans, Leicester Tigers and Bedford Blues, prior to joining Coventry in 2016, along with England Counties honours.

On accepting his new coaching role Boulton said,

“Kenilworth have really made a name for themselves locally and nationally over recent seasons and I’m extremely excited to be joining the club. I’ve heard only great things from Will, George and Todd and being offered the chance to be Men’s Head Coach of such an ambitious and forward- thinking club was a no-brainer”.

Commenting on the appointment, Kenilworth RFC Director of Rugby Jai Purewal said,

"We are delighted that Phil has chosen Kenilworth RFC to continue his coaching career. Phil has all the experience of playing professionally for the past 10 years, to go with his rapidly developing coaching career; together with Todd Freemantle and the rest of the off-field team, I am confident that Phil will lead us successfully through the next stage of development as a squad and as a club.”
