Last week was a clean sweep for the club with wins for both the Men’s teams and the Ladies in the Cup on Sunday. The men returned to winning ways with a 21-7 win over Evesham with tries from Ollie Burman, Gaz Renowden & Ed Hannam, all converted by Josh Emery. It was a very cold and wet day and we did well to return four points, just missing out the try bonus point in the last play of the game. Our 2nd XV had a tremendous result at Old Coventrians in the 2nd XV Shield, winning 61-12. Star of the show was Wednesday touch player Henry Hobill with a try and eight conversions. Our Ladies continued the winning run with a 28-19 win over Crewe & Nantwich in the Intermediate Cup, the try scorers being Beth Woodward, Sophie Henry (2) and Caz Spence. Becki Lewis was successful with the four conversions.

This weekend (3rd November) the 1st XV are away at Southam in the league and it would be good to avenge that big defeat we suffered there at the end of last season. Southam are currently bottom of the league with no wins yet but with four losing bonus points. They are always up for a game against Kenilworth though. Our 2nd XV are at home to Southam and our Colts game at Nuneaton has been called off. All kick offs are now 2.15pm.

On Sunday (4th November) there is a very, very big game for our Ladies – the long-anticipated local league derby against Old Leamingtonians Ladies. Kick off is at 2pm. It should be a cracker and if you have not yet taken in a Ladies game then I suggest that this is a good one to start with! The bar will be open from 12pm and remain open after the game.

The reward for our 2nd XV’s cup win at Old Coventrians is another away game and this is to be played on, or before, the 18th November. Our Ladies have been drawn at home to Bletchley in their Intermediate Cup and this is to be played on Sunday 16th December at 2pm.

FINAL CALL - It has been a while since we had KRFC v neck jumpers on sale and I have contacted a local company who can oblige. Costs etc are still to be sorted out but will be £20. If you wish to have one then please reply to president@kenilworthrugby.co.uk and they will be ordered in time for Christmas. A sample is on display at the club.

The Autumn Internationals start this week and all games will be shown at the club.

On the 30th November our Pirates are making their season debut with a game under our lights against Leamington Vets. Kick off is at 7pm. The following day (1st December) they are holding their annual Pirates Charity Lunch prior to our game with Leamington. The cost will be £20 and this will include a charitable donation. Dom is looking for table hosts so please e mail domcarrick@yahoo.co.uk if you wish to have a table or just an individual place.
