Weekly newsletter

  • Last weekend our 1st XV men put up a truly stupendous performance at the then league leaders Kidderminster, winning 27-14 and scoring four tries for a bonus point win to put us top of the table. Our try scorers were Bobby Thompson, Harry Abell and Ed Hannam (2). Our Colts travelled to Broadstreet and also came up with a 31-5. On Sunday our 2nd XV came through a tough Warwickshire Shield quarter final by defeating Southam 23-19 in a dour encounter, not helped by the wind or the back pitch we were playing on. Our Ladies travelled to Birmingham Mosley and were defeated 17-36 by the second-placed team in the league. The reports will soon be on the web site with piccies of both men’s games.

  • This weekend (24th), the 1st XV were due to play Market Rasen & Louth in Midlands Division quarter final of the Intermediate Cup but they have now pulled out of the tie (citing no front rows). That means we are now in the are now in the semi final of the Midlands Division, and wait for it, potentially three games away from a final at Twickenham in May. The next date for the semi final is 9th Feb. The other ties being played in the Midlands Division on Saturday 24th November are Barkers Butts v Olney, Camp Hill v Kidderminster and Old Laurentian v Lincoln.
  • The 2nd XV are at home on Saturday (24th) in a 2nd XV league game against Broadstreet 3s (KO 2:15pm). On Sunday our Ladies entertain Wymondham Wasps in a very winnable game with Wymondham lying below us in the league in 7th spot with one win from their six games (KO 2pm).
  • On the 30th November our Pirates are making their season debut with a game under our lights against Leamington Vets (KO 7pm). The following day (1st December), they are holding their annual Pirates Charity Lunch prior to our game with Leamington. The cost will be £20 and this will include a charitable donation. Dom is looking for table hosts so please e mail domcarrick@yahoo.co.uk if you wish to have a table or just an individual place.
  • There will be a 200 cub draw on Friday 14th Dec at around 7pm.
  • Our Warwickshire Shield game with Old Laurentian has been arranged for Wednesday 19th December under the lights at OLs.
