There were no game last week for the 1st XV with Market Rasen & Louth crying off the quarter final of the Intermediate Cup, citing no front rows. Then Broadstreet 3s cried off the 2nd XV fixture at 7pm on Friday night. With the Colts having no scheduled game this left us with no home games on Saturday. The Ladies played at home on Sunday and gave us all a bit of a scare. They were well in charge of the game but all credit to Wymondham Wasps who just refused to lie down. It ended 33-27 with the try scorers being Sophie Henry, Caz Spence (2), Maddie Rendall and Katy Brown, who scoredher first for the club. Our good kicker Becki Lewis contributed with four conversions to effectively win us the game. A report on the game, plus some pictures, is on the web site.

The games this weekend start on Friday night when our Pirates take on Berkswell & Balsall Vets under our lights with a 7.30pm KO. B&B replace Leamington Vets who pulled out earlier in the week. On Saturday it is the eagerly awaited local derby with our closest neighbours Leamington, who are currently lying in 7th spot in the league with three wins and five losses. We also play Leamington at 2nd XV and Colts levels, both away. The Ladies have a well earned rest.

There are two big milestones for the men playing against Leamington with Gaz Renowden playing his 250th game for the Kenilworth 1st XV and Ed Hannam playing his 100th. Make sure you get yourself a programme that commemorates this!

Prior to the league game with Leamington there is a Pirates pre-match lunch kicking off at 12.45pm.

We are now in the semi finals of the Midlands Division of the Intermediate Cup where we will play one of Olney, Kidderminster or Old Laurentian on Saturday 19th January. The winners of the semi finals then play a regional (Midlands) final. The regional winners then play the winners of the Northern division for a place in the final at Twickenham on 4th May.

There will be a 200 Club draw on Friday 14th December at around 7pm.

Our Warwickshire Shield game with Old Laurentian has been arranged for Wednesday 19th December under the lights at OLs.
