It was another hard fought win (20-12) at third-placed Nuneaton Old Edwardians on Saturday whcih was concluded with a last-minute bonu point try from Mikkel Andresen to keep us at the top of the league on points difference from Kidderminster who had a bonus point win at Leamington. Our other try scorers were Josh O’Brien, Josh Emery and Gaz Renowden. A report on the game, plus piccies is on the web site. Our 2nd XV did not play as NOEs cried off the fixture and, even worse, our Colts were on the pitch warming up for their game with Newbold when news came through that they were not turning up. On Sunday our Ladies travelled to third-placed Bletchley and put up another good performance, especially in the second half, losing 21-52 but winning the second half! A report on this game is also on the website.

This weekend we conclude the first half of league fixtures with a home game against bottom club (with one win) Old Coventrians in our first league fixture with them since the 2004/05 season. It is always a hard game against OCs and we must not underestimate them. Another big fixture is the meeting of Kidderminster and Nuneaton Old Edwardians. There is no 2nd XV game (we have pulled out the fixture with Stratford) and our Colts travel to top of the table Old Leamingtonians. On Sunday our Ladies are at home to Bletchley but this time in the second round of the Intermediate Cup.

Before the game with OCs there is our annual Christmas Lunch and if you are attending this please remember it is a prompt 12 noon start. We thank all of the local companies who have provided prizes for the auction and these are listed in the match programme. After the game it is the players Christmas Party so do not be surprised to see a few animals, farmers wives and farmers later on at the club!

The semi final draw of the Midlands Division of the Intermediate Cup has now been made and we are away at Olney who are currently top of Midlands 2 East South with an almost identical record to us. The other semi final is Kidderminster v Old Laurentian and the games will be played on 19th January.

There will be a 200 Club draw on Friday 14th December at around 7pm.

On Sunday 16th December we are having a visit from Santa, courtesy of Kenilworth Round Table. Kerry and indeed the Round Table would like some help on the day so if you can please contact .Indeed, the Round table are struggling for numbers this season to man their Santa float and this is impacting on how many streets they can visit. If you think you can help them then please contact Kerry who will give you the contact details. Kerry has prepared some notes for the day and these can be found HERE.

Our Warwickshire Shield game with Old Laurentian has been arranged for Wednesday 19th Dec under the lights at OLs.

On the 20th Dec there will be our Santa 7s competition and this has now got eight sides and promises to be a good night. It will be followed by some singing in the club.

I have been advised that the tickets for England’s warm up games for the World Cup are now on sale and full details on how to apply are in the News section of the website.

On Friday 25th January we are holding a Burns Night and posters for this event are around the club and can be accessed HERE.

Those that live close to the rugby club should have received a note from Warwick DC regarding the “Land East of Kenilworth Development Brief” and this clearly affects our two pieces of land, the main pitch and the Rocky Lane (Cow Patch) site. We are now in the Consultation Period for this and this ends in mid January. The club are planning to submit comments on the Development Brief and we ask that if you have some input, and it affects the club, then you contact Mike Blakeman on to include it in our response. The documents that have been sent out can be seen HERE.
