Sad news re death of Chris Hart

I have this morning (29th Dec) received these emails re Chris Hart, RIP:

Willie, the note below will relay the news that Chris Hart died, sadly & suddenly, yesterday morning.

Chris was one of the many OWs who have contributed to Kenilworth RFC since its foundation. He was a very fine, left-handed golfer & played regularly in the Bear & Crooked Putter, as well as OW, events. Chris, Beaky, CPW & I also used to play golf together on most Saturday afternoons, first at The Welcombe & later at Stratford Oaks. Chris played 2nd. row for the Pirates for a while in the 80s until his front teeth were knocked out against, I think, Birmingham Old Boys.

He was a very good-natured & valued friend & will be greatly missed. I’m sure all our sympathies are with Susan & Nicholas.

Subject: Sad news - Chris Hart (1959 - 66)

I am very saddened to tell you all that Chris Hart died this morning after suffering a stroke, and then heart failure. We went through school together; he was an usher at my wedding; I was best man at his marriage to Susan;  godfather to their son Nicholas; and Chris was godfather to my daughter Sarah. Chris was in Greville House and on leaving school was active in the OWs - playing rugby for the old boys, running social events at the Portcullis Club and attending OW dinners. He will be very much missed by so many of us. Anyone wishing to write to Susan can do so at The Coach House, Lowes Lane, Wellesbourne CV35 9RB. Texts can be sent to 07899 928555. I will, of course, be sending funeral details once they are known.

Sorry to bring you such sad new at this festive time.

Best wishes everyone

Nigel
