In a fiercely fought Warwickshire Cup Final against Nuneaton our Mens 1XV narrowly missed out on picking up the cup for the first time in our history. A last gasp Kenilworth penalty kick fell slightly short to see Nuneaton cling on to their 27-26 lead and secure the cup.
The Kenilworth side were well on top in the set piece with all of our 4 tries coming from catch and drives, Nuneaton looked threatening in the backs with most of their successful breaks being orchestrated by ex Kenilworth centre Elliot Brown.
Tries came from Jake Dodd, Ollie Stone x 2 and a Penalty Try. 2 x Conversions from Tyler Price.
Congratulations to Nuneaton, coached by another ex Kenilworth player - Nicky Smith, we now return our focus to the league campaign.
Our 2XV kept up their good form with a convincing 41-3 victory over Old Laurentians with tries from Harry Rowley x 2, Rob Spooner, Dan Retter, Hugh Whidourne, Kieron Byrne and Simon Rio. Retter and Byrne shared 3 conversions.
Our Women's 1XV fell agonisingly short of victory against Barnsley Ladies with the final score of 22-26 in Championship North 1 and our Women's 2XV travelled to Towcestrians and returned with a fabulous 42-24 victory in the Allianz Inner Warrior Series Midlands division.
