KENFEST, Kenilworth’s spectacular beer and music festival, has been hailed a huge success as it returned for its second outing - attracting over 5,000 visitors and raising over £5,000 for local good causes.

The three-day festival, hosted by Kenilworth RFC and kindly sponsored by commercial property specialists Bromwich Hardy, took place over the weekend of May 3 – 5.

Visitors were treated to 18 live music acts on the HMV Empire stage including The Subterraneans, Ruder Than U, and local favourites RISE. Click here to view the 2024 wrap up film.

Whilst enjoying the music, visitors consumed over 4,000 pizzas, gyros, and burgers in the RIX Petroleum food village, all washed down with over 11,000 pints of beer, lager and cider, as well as 1,000 glasses of prosecco.

Not to be left out, the children made the most of the Binary Blue Kids Zone enjoying the bouncy castles, storytelling, multi-use games area, and the interactive Severn Trent learning zone.

New to the festival for 2024, Brink Contemporary Arts produced a bespoke mural in real-time, especially for KENFEST.

Celebrating the success of the second annual event, and presenting The Myton Hospices with a cheque for £5,000, KENFEST director, Loz Sibley said:

“We’d like to thank main sponsors Bromwich Hardy, and indeed all our sponsors, be they private individuals or local businesses, for their support.

“We would also like to thank our amazing volunteers for giving up over 1000 hours of their valuable time in support of the festival and our benefiting charities.”

Dawn Cooper, partner at sponsor Bromwich Hardy added:

“We are absolutely delighted to have been the main sponsor of KENFEST this year, and even more thrilled that we have played a part in providing The Myton Hospices with this fantastic donation.

“It’s great to see the community coming together to have fun and doing good at the same time.”

In receiving the donation on behalf of The Myton Hospices, Chris Wilmott, partnerships manager at Myton, welcomed the ‘fantastic’ donation and praised all involved for their generosity and support.

He said: “On behalf of our patients and their loved ones, whose lives this donation will make such a difference to, I would like to thank the organisers and supporters of KENFEST for the fantastic donation of £5,000.

“We need to raise £11m every year to continue to provide our services free of charge, and we simply cannot do that without people like you.”

Also benefiting from KENFEST 24 is the Warwickshire Hearts charity that provide Community First Responders to West Midlands Ambulance Service, attending 999 calls in the South Warwickshire area. KENFEST Director, Martin Stockbridge said,

“The health and welfare of festivalgoers is paramount, and we could not be in better hands than those of the Warwickshire Hearts volunteers.

“As a charity they don’t receive any statutory funding, so we are especially pleased to donate £825.”
