A great win for the Men's 1XV away at Newbold on Tuesday evening in the Warwickshire Cup. A 12-3 half time lead was narrowed to 12-10 by an impressive Newbold side who were strong in the set piece and had some useful ball-carriers. However Kens stepped up the pace and intensity in the final half hour to run out 27-10 winners. The bench added some solidity up front which allowed the backs to start stretching the tiring Newbold side. There were 2 tries each from Bobby Thompson and Ed Hannam who also kicked a conversion and a penalty. The other penalty came from new signing Ben Leahy. It was great to see so many of the #kenfamily over at the game cheering on the lads. We now have Sutton Coldfield in the semi finals with the date and venue to be confirmed. It is likely to be around the Bank Holiday weekend as league action starts the following week.
